- Skyscanner
One of my favorite travel apps is Skyscanner. With Skyscanner, you enter your travel details. Within seconds, Skyscanner presents you with various airline flight options, making it easy to find the best deal possible. One of the things I appreciate most about Skyscanner is how fair it is. I never feel like I am being tricked or manipulated into choosing a flight or airline. Skyscanner presents all the options clearly and objectively, so I can make an informed decision based on my preferences.
One of the benefits of using Skyscanner is it saves you time with its ability to compare prices from multiple airlines and travel agencies all in one place. You do not have to sit and visit individual websites. Skyscanner finds the best deal for your desired travel dates and destination. Additionally, Skyscanner offers a range of filters and search options to help you narrow your options and find the perfect flight. With Skyscanner, you can trust that you are getting a fair and transparent view of the available flights and prices, making it an excellent tool for any traveler looking to save money and time on their next trip.
I also love how transparent Skyscanner is about pricing – I always know what I am paying for, with no hidden fees or surprises. Finally, I feel safe using Skyscanner. As someone who travels frequently, safety and security are always on my mind. With Skyscanner, I know that I am getting reliable information about flights and airlines and that my personal information is being kept secure. Overall, I highly recommend Skyscanner to anyone looking for an easy, fair, and safe way to book flights.
- StudentUniverse
My favorite travel app is StudentUniverse. I used StudentUniverse for two of my three study-abroad adventures. StudentUniverse is an app for students. You sign up with your university’s email to get a discount. StudentUniverse understands that college students who want to travel do not get to travel because of financial restraints. Therefore, StudentUniverse’s goal is to provide a resource for our students looking to travel on a budget.
StudentUniverse is a travel booking website that specializes in flights, hotels, and tours for students. They offer exclusive discounts and deals for students with a valid school email address. With StudentUniverse, students can save money on travel expenses and have more opportunities to explore different parts of the world. If you are a student, use StudentUniverse to plan your next trip, especially those studying abroad or planning to travel during breaks.
- Booking.com
Booking.com is my go-to app for booking hotels. I started using Booking.com in 2017 when I took my family to New York City. I enjoy the app. It is easy to use and has worldwide accessibility. The website is highly user-friendly and offers a wide range of accommodation options. You can filter your search according to your preferences and find the perfect hotel within minutes. The website offers great deals and discounts on hotels, flights, and car rentals. The customer service is also top-notch, and I have always received prompt responses to any queries or concerns.
My recent experiences with Booking.com was exceptional. I booked a nice hotel in Barcelona and Milan, Italy for a decent cost. When you sign up to Booking.com, you enter the Genius Loyal Program and get discounts and cash-back rewards after completing several stays. Booking.com memberships also offer discounts for attractions and airport services and hotel discounts.
Additionally, Booking.com allows you to cancel a booking for free for up to 24 hours before your stay. I had to cancel several hotel reservations because of unforeseen circumstances, and the process was hassle-free and quick. Also, the app offers you different payment options. You can pay on the day of the booking, a couple of days before your stay for some hotel, or you can pay at the property. The payment flexibility is good because you do not have to pay immediately on some properties, giving you time to plan better for other travel expenses. The flexible payment option is also for people who like to pay in cash at the hotel. For my trip to Barcelona, I booked a hotel three months before my departure and paid in cash when I arrived in Barcelona.
Moreover, the customer support team is very understanding and helpful. They respond on time and can walk you through the cancellation and refund process. I recommend using Booking.com for all your future travel bookings.
- Hopper
A friend recently told me about the Hopper app. Hopper is an app that compares flight and hotel deals. Although I have not used Hopper to book a flight or hotel, I have recently used it to compare flight prices for my upcoming trip. It provides good discounts and has a system of carrots which reduce the cost even more. You also get cashback on some property or flights. As someone who loves to travel, I highly recommend using the Hopper app to plan your next trip.
There are a few reasons why this app is a game-changer for anyone looking to travel affordably and efficiently. First and foremost, Hopper is incredibly user-friendly and intuitive. The app is easy to navigate and provides users with information about flights, hotels, and other travel-related expenses. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or a first-time flier, Hopper makes the process of booking travel simple and stress-free. Another reason to use Hopper is that it can help you save a significant amount of money. The app uses advanced algorithms to predict when flight prices rise or fall. Knowing when prices rise and fall, you can book a trip when convenient.
Also, Hopper offers exclusive deals on flights and hotels that you won’t find anywhere else. Finally, Hopper is a great way to stay organized and on top of your travel plans. The app allows you to track your flights, hotel reservations, and other vital travel details all in one place. This organization means you can easily access your itinerary and make necessary changes or adjustments. In conclusion, Hopper is a must-have app for anyone who loves to travel. It is easy to use, incredibly affordable, and also offers many features and benefits that will make your next trip a breeze. So why wait? - eDream
The eDream travel app is a fantastic tool that has revolutionized how we plan and book our travel itineraries. One of the best things about the eDream travel app is its user-friendly interface. The app is easy to navigate, and the search function works like a charm. - Travel.State.gov
Travel.state.gov is not an app. However, if you are planning to travel, it is a must-go-to website. I discussed its importance in a previous post. Travel.state.gov is your destination for all things travel. It allows you to research everything related to your destination country’s safety measures, culture, and travel documentation requirements. On the website, you will also see the security levels for each country you wish to travel to. These security levels inform you of the security risks of each country. They are ranked from 1 to 4. “1” signaling that you should “exercise normal precautions,” and “4” representing “do not travel.”
Travel.state.gov is a great place to explore during your research stages. When it comes to documentation, it not only tells you about whether or not you need a visa but also provides information on which medical documentation you need. Before traveling to certain places, you need a vaccination card that will allow you admission to that country. Some countries ask that you have the vaccination before applying for the visa. After the COVID pandemic, some places still need you to have a COVID vaccine card. Therefore, research which medical documentations need before you travel, depending on your destination.
- SMART Travel App(STEP)
Like Travel.state.gov, the Smart Travel App(STEP) is a Department of State program created to ensure the safety of American travelers abroad. You sign up for the program and list your destination, the address where you will stay, and an emergency contact. The importance of the SMART Travel App is that in case of emergency, you get notifications from the U.S. embassy in the country where you are visiting or living. It allows the Department of State to know how many Americans are in a foreign country, where they are staying, and contact their emergency contacts when there is an urgent matter.
When I lived in France, I would get constant notifications about protests, safe places to go on a particular weekend, or any news related to safety. In the year I lived in France, there were a lot of unfortunate events. I was planning to go to Strasbourg for a weekend. As I was planning the trip, I got a notification of a potential threat in Strasbourg city center which gave me pause. A day later, there was a stabbing rampage in Strasbourg, where I hoped to book a hotel. Reflecting on that experience, I am glad I had the app. I don’t know what would’ve happened if I encountered that tragedy. The SMART Travel App also helps the Department of State plan evacuation efforts in case of dire situations with the information it has.
In conclusion, if you plan to travel, these apps will help me in the preparatory stages, during and after your travel adventure. Apps such as Booking.com, Hopper, and eDream are user-friendly apps that allow you to book flights, hotels, and activities. Skyscanner helps you compare prices from multiple airlines and travel agencies all in one place. You do not have to sit and visit individual websites. Skyscanner allows you to find the best deals for your desired travel dates and destination. The travel.state.gov website lets you research your destination’s culture, safety measures, and proper travel documentation. The SMART Travel App ensures your safety while you are abroad. It provides notifications and alerts to help you plan your activities abroad safely. Next time you travel, make sure you check out these websites.
